International Living, a respected resource for travel and living abroad, quickly grew out of their first attempt at establishing themselves on the web. They asked me to freshen up the look of the site, streamline navigation for their readers, and provide a more scalable architecture for future additions to the site.

In the redesign, I started by eliminating the frame at the top of every page which did nothing but display the oversized logo. Next I consolidated information, grouping previously disparate pages together under larger, easier-to-navigate umbrella headings. For example, pages featuring housing rentals, homes for sale, or house swaps were located in different parts of the site. After the redesign, they were all grouped together under the heading of Real Estate.

Finally, the very dated "buttons" on the nav bar were replaced with easier to read (and update) text links and more lively, enticing graphics were added to the main section of the homepage to catch the eye of their audience.

The redesign is currently underway and is not available for public view yet.
